Holywell Walks

The booklet '10 Walks Around Holywell' was written by Ron Williams and Elfed Jones.

Ron first joined HRC in 1967 whilst working with Vincent Linares, one of the clubs earliest members (see club history). Ron soon became a regular walker with the club and has been a very active member since then. He has held the posts of secretary, chairman and is now the president.

From very early on in his walking life Ron has shown an interest in maintaining and way marking footpaths. He has sat on a number of committees to help achieve this – he was on the Ramblers footpath advisory committee, was chairman of the Ramblers National Committee and is currently area footpath secretary for Ramblers North Wales area.

In addition to the Walks Around Holywell booklet, Ron has written a book of 24 walks in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and 2 books of circular walks based on the North Wales Pilgrims Way.

Elfed was also a long time member of HRC. He knew all the paths around Holywell/Ysceifiog area and worked on maintaining footpaths and repairing/replacing stiles in the area.
